~ French - Circa 1880 ~

~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~

A beautiful Antique French Baroque clock. Modelled gilt bronze, the clock supported by four stylised mythical sea creatures, strapped around their tail fins with a mask of Neptune below the dial. Waves of surf to each side of the dial and goddess masks to the sides. To the top is a flaming torché.

The dial is also gilt bronze with 12 individual enamel cartouches and blued steel hands.

The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is an old replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Condition of the case is excellent, beautifully clean and bright with some wear, discolouration and marks. The dial is also in excellent condition just some tiny nibbles next to the winding holes.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
