Description

This is a super early 18th century shagreen writing box.

It is in great condition commensurate with age and use.

Original brass hooks, hinges and fittings.

Inkwells are probably not original but fit reasonably well.

The pink silk inside is the original, the base has been recovered as it is not shagreen, but fits in well with the overall appearance. The lock does not work.

There are signs of wear which you would expect to find on an items of this age.
