Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Regency sideboards, produced in Britain during the early nineteenth century, are defined by classical architectural proportions, clean lines, and symmetrical forms. They frequently feature carved foliate motifs, scroll supports, rosette accents, and high-quality mahogany veneers.

Cabinetmakers primarily used solid Cuban or West Indian mahogany, frequently employing flame mahogany veneers for drawer fronts and door panels to highlight grain figure. Oak or pine was commonly utilised as a secondary timber for interior drawer linings and backboards.

Authentic pieces display hand-cut dovetail joints on drawers, hand-planed backboards, and natural age-related oxidisation on the timber. Look for original brass locks, period-correct castors or plinth bases, and carving details executed entirely by hand.

Position the piece as a focal anchor in a spacious dining room, hallway, or drawing room. Balance the heavy proportion of dark mahogany by displaying modern ceramic vessels, contemporary artwork on the wall above, or minimalist table lamps on the top surface.

Keep the furniture away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent timber shrinkage and veneer lifting. Apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year, buffing gently along the grain, and wipe spills immediately with a soft dry cloth.
