Antique Victorian Mahogany Leather Top Writing Table

Description

A charming antique Victorian writing table / desk in mahogany. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1860-1880 period.

It is very well made and is a lovely petite size. It sits on turned solid mahogany legs and also has two beautifully turned mahogany handles. The drawers have fine hand cut dovetailed joints, the top edges are nicely molded and this has a gorgeous inset leather top that has been hand coloured and gold tooled.

We have had this recently re-polished, it is in excellent condition for its age. There are various small marks and indentations beneath the polish, commensurate for age and adding to the lovely patina.

Depth – 18 inches , 46 cm

Height – 29 inches , 73 cm

Knee height – 23 inches , 59 cm
