Antique Treen 18thc Elm Sussex Log Food Bowl. English C1770-90.

Probably the best example I have had of these very collectable pieces of treen...it dates from the last quarter of the 18thc and is known as a ''Sussex log'' bowl, named after a lot of similar bowls were found in a Sussex Farmhose....it is made from the end piece of an elm log, so this bowl is a 2.74'' horizontal slice of the tree and the eating surface is on the end grain....it is in excellent ''used'' condition with a wonderful patina....
