An incredibly fine example of a large antique marble top French empire console table in satin wood, dating from around the 1850’s period.

The quality is phenomenal, the satin wood has a gorgeous colour tone and grain patterns. The gilt bronze mounts are of the highest quality, take a good look at the details, particularly on the handles. This has an X frame base with gilt metal hairy paw feet, joined by a fluted stretcher. The back is also nicely finished, so this can be used as a free standing item. The original marble top is also exquisite, with absolutely beautiful colours and patterns.

We have just had this re-polished, it is in excellent condition for its age.
