Rare Edwardian Silver Patent Combination Vesta Case & Stamp Case by William Light, Birmingham 1906

Description

This rare Edwardian silver combination Vesta Case/ Stamp Case was made by William Light and is dated Birmingham 1906 . The curved rectangular silver body engraved with foliate decorations and incorporating a stamp case with vacant cartouche to the front. The hinged flip top opens both stamp case and vesta case. The inner stamp case cover engraved with prov.Pat.10944 . The back engraved with floral designs. The base with striker. The interior still retaining some gilding.

Sprung hinged cover.

Ring attachment to the side.

Hallmarks:

W.L for William Light.

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "g" for 1906.

Also stamped prov.Pat.10944

Dimensions:

4.5cm x 3.5cm

Condition:

Very good.

No surface scratching.

One minute ding to side.

Strong hinge.

Spring mechanism in full working order.
