A very attractive Edwardian Carlton House Desk, constructed from good figured mahogany with chequered stringing throughout. The castellated top joined with shaped galleries the centre with a hidden drawer. Below are 2 small cupboards with oval inlaid panels and flanked by 3 banks of 3 drawers with brass axehead handles. The sides having shaped lifting lids offering more storage and further axehead pulls. The serpentine front concealing a pull out original leather writing surface with blind & gold tooling. The lower section having a centre shaped drawer flanked by smaller drawers and all with brass ring handles. The whole stands on square tapering legs with chequered inlay and spade feet.
