Description

A very cheerful & pleasing persian borchalu rug (hamadan region) north west persia,with over 10 colours used in its design. You would be forgiven for thinking it was a kurdish rug who sometimes use an array of different colours.

Somehow seems to work well. Cheer you up through these dark winter nights !

Has been hand washed last three images,plenty of images to peruse.

In great condition for its 90 years of age. All over even pile. Selvedge to one end,minor cotton fringes to the other.

Size is 5 foot by 3 foot 7 inches. 154cm by 110cm. At widest points. Fringes and selvedge not measured in size.

Lustrous wool pile hand knotted onto cotton warp and light lemon yellow coloured wool wefts.

Weighs 5.6kg. U.k post £20.
