This is a fabulously impressive 19th Century style childhood Portrait Picture depicting a military officer who is carefully showing his young grandson his large wartime sword with the small pet dog sitting close by them.
 
Copied after a famous 19th Century work by renowned childhood scene artist Arthur John Lesley (1860-1952).
 
Of an excellent patination with a wonderful period appearance, the piece is mounted within a beautiful quality gilt-moulded frame and it is ready to be enjoyed immediately.
