Description

A beautiful pair of antique Chippendale style Swedish satin birch bergere armchairs in excellent condition. They date from around the 1920-30’s.

These armchairs have beautifully shaped frames & detailed carvings all over. They are double caned on the backs & sides with carved scroll over arms, carved shaped legs with claw & ball feet. The satin birch wood has that typical silky look with the light & darker shades.

We have just imported these chairs from Sweden, had them re-polished & re-upholstered in our regular cream natural cotton fabric. The seat & back cushions are sprung, so they are comfortable as well as great looking.
