Gary Wright Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
Raised on turned tapering legs carved with elongated lotus leaves; terminating in the original brass cup castors. The square tapering rear legs giving the seat a slight incline for comfort. The seat and back with feather cushions.

An almost identical documented chair is illustrated in A Jaffer, "Furniture from British Indian and Ceylon: A catalogue of the Collection in Victoria and Albert Museum and the Peabody Essex Museum, 2001 page 378"
