Antique silver Waltham Riverside pocket watch with two tone movement.

The watch has a delightful damascened two tone stem-winding movement, Riverside 1888 model, which is working nicely. This is a high grade movement with screw set jewels in gold settings and a Breguet hairspring for enhanced precision. The movement is not signed with either the model number or a serial number, quite possibly at the request of the original retailer.

The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for Birmingham 1899 with a sponsor’s mark for Alfred Bedford, Manager of Waltham UK. The case is in good condition, just some unevenness to the back of the watch.

The acrylic lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in lovely condition with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers with red numerals.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
