Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Kangxi period wine ewer is a porcelain vessel produced during the reign of the Kangxi Emperor (16621722) in Qing Dynasty China. Designed primarily for serving liquids, these vessels were produced both for domestic consumption and for the European export market.

These vessels were hand-shaped from high-fired kaolin clay, painted with cobalt oxide directly onto the unfired body, covered with a transparent glaze, and fired at high temperatures. The cobalt develops a distinctive blue colour beneath the translucent clear glaze.

Authentic Kangxi porcelain typically exhibits clear violet-blue cobalt shades, a smooth translucent glaze, and refined clay preparation. Period markers often include double blue rings or reign marks on the base, alongside specific body forms like high arched handles.

A porcelain ewer serves as a focal accent when placed on a sideboard, mantelpiece, or bookshelf alongside modern ceramics or minimal artwork. Grouping the item with complementary blue and white ceramics creates a structured decorative arrangement.

Clean the porcelain surface gently using lukewarm water and a mild non-abrasive detergent applied with a soft cloth. Avoid sudden temperature changes to prevent stress fractures in the glaze or body.
