It is beautifully made from solid mahogany with fine satin wood inlays. It has a glass top with an inlaid and cross banded edge. The top lifts up on a very well made brass hinge which can lock into place to keep it open.
The drawers have fine hand cut dovetailed joints, with original brass handles and escutcheons.

There are elegant tapered mahogany legs which also have satin wood inlay, and terminate in original brass casters. This is also nicely finished on the back, and is designed to be used a a free standing item.
