Staffordshire Saltglaze Sauce Boat Circa 1760

18th century
Description

A Staffordshire saltglaze stonware sauceboat, circa 1760, of boat form with scroll handle, moulded in relief with husks within rococo reserves and acanthus moulding underneath the spout.

Condition: On close inspection one side has a hairline crack from the rim continuing three-quarters of the way down the body with a further crack enamating out from its centre. However they are hairline cracks and the piece is stable.
