A fine Japanese Meiji period 950 silver box and tray of rectangular form with removable cover, the lid chased with floral decoration depicting a Chrysanthemum & Cherry blossom in bloom, signed Katsuyuki in the right corner. Inside the box is wood lined and is complete with its original wood tray with chamfered silver edge. This splendid box has a few very minor dings commensurate with use and is missing a splinter of wood at the edge of the wood lining (see images) but these do not detract from its beauty, the dimensions of the box are and stands 1 ¾ x 5 ½ x 4 inches.
