FJ & RD Story Antique Clocks has dated this piece to the 1880s.

The stylish Rococo shape case with locking glazed door (original lock) revealing the original gilded sunburst pendulum. The interior also decorated with Boulle work to the inside of the rear door and a Trompe-l'oeil effect to the floor. The sides further decorated with fine boulle work and glazed viewing windows.

The decorative pressed gilt dial with 12 individual enamel cartouches with blue Roman numerals.
The fully restored high quality eight day French movement, striking the hours and half hour on a cast steel steel bell of excellent tone. Movement stamped CR and numbered 86.

Overall this is a very handsome clock, with full boulle work decoration on the sides and interior.
The case is in fine original condition with the tortoiseshell and boulle work in good order.

The clock has been sympathetically cleaned and the movement fully restored to a high standard by our FBHI and Worshipful Company of Clockmakers awarded horologist.
