The knife blade is decorated with a pear and pomegranates. The blade and fork ends are not “floppy” and show very little or no use at all.

Both marked for Sheffield makers mark Thomas Marples Fork is 1871 Knife is 1872.
The mother of pearl handles on both the fork and knife are again beautifully decorated with a pear and pomegranate but also a pineapple. The silver cartouche on both items is marked with the original owners name H Wilson.

The mother of pearl is in great order there is a very slight crack on the knife, When the knife is looked at under normal light this is clearly where the MOP is slightly different in colour so probably occurred due to the natural “flaw” in the MOP. Apart from this they are near mint condition.
The box opens and closes well, it does have a little bit on loss on leather on the back edge.
