Penderyn Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The Welsh oak commode has a square shaped seat with a removable lid cover. The aprons of the chair are low and shaped to disguise what would’ve been the bowl on the inside. A particularly pleasing example of an antique Welsh oak commode.

Item Ref; M-2074
DIMENSIONS:
Height – 86cm / Seat Height - 42cm / Width – 60.5cm / Depth – 55.5cm
CONDITION REPORT:
In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks and very minor scratches throughout the item including the backrest, legs, arms and seat (pictured). The chair shows signs of historic woodworm, however this is now long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. The Welsh oak commode armchair remains structurally solid and sound, with good tight joints. Overall, a good example of its kind.
