Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1860s.
It has a 3.5-inch silvered dial with solid gold spade-hands. There is a subsidiary second’s dial and a 54-hour up/down dial, each with black metal hands.
The key is mounted towards the rear of the 3-tier Brazilian Rosewood case, bound in brass with brass carry handles. The glass in both lids is intact and the movement is in full working order.

Thomas Campbell is recorded as having left the Norris & Campbell Partnership in 1857 which means this Chronometer was most likely made between 1857-1860.
