This is a delightful Victorian cut glass decanter showcasing a rare Victorian silver wine label for "Sauterne" . The textured vine leaf-shaped label made by the renowned Charles Reily & George Storer and dated London 1839 The body pierced with the word "SAUTERNE".

Suspended on a belcher link chain.

Hallmarks:

CR over GS for Charles Reily & George Storer

Lion Passant.

Duty Mark.

London Assay mark.

Date letter "D" for 1839

Dimensions decanter:

Height: 28 cm / 11 inches.

Diameter: 9cm / 3.6 inches.

Dimensions label:

Height: 4cm / 1.6 inches.

Width: 5.5cm / 2 inches.

Total length with chain: 10cm / 4 inches.

Condition:

Good

No chips, no cracks.

Clean interior.

Minor bloom at the base, commensurate with age.

Silver label in very good condition.
