Antique Carved Oak Monks Bench C1920

Antique Carved Oak Monks Bench and dating from around 1920. Constructed from quality oak it has a high back rest with carved rosette edge above two fielded panels with carved lozenge design. This folds down to make a table top with two fielded panels and with carved lunette edge. It has squared armrests on ring turned supports. The seat has a fielded panel with gadrooned edge and raises to reveal a deep storage area. To the front there are four carved lozenge panels and with a carved lozenge panel to each end. It is raised on a deep plinth base.

MEASURES: 39” HIGH TO TOP ( 30” HIGH WHEN FOLDED DOWN) X 18” DEEP WHEN RAISED ( 21” DEEP WHEN FOLDED DOWN) X 43” WIDE

With a lovely deep colour and patination and oozing all the charm and character of the period. Our furniture is cleaned and polished using traditional waxing methods.
