The Fancy Fox has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
A monogram is ornately engraved to the reverse. Hallmarked for London 1778, maker George Smith III.

It measures 34.3cm (13 1/2") long and the bowl is 9cm (3 1/2") wide and 3.5cm (1 5/8") deep. It weighs 200g / 6.4ozt.
In excellent condition, no dents and minimal handling wear, all the marks and engravings are crisp as is the decoration.
