Early Victorian Tortoiseshell Needle Box, Circa 1840

Description

This delightful and rare mid-19th Century tortoiseshell casket is designed to hold sewing pin packs. Victorian. In the form of a miniature knife box, the sloped hinged cover inlaid with a small white metal rectangular reserve. The front with a silvered button. The base lined with the original silver paper lining. The interior with the original green velvet lining.

Dimensions:

Height: 5.5cm / 2.1 inches.

Width: 3cm / 1.1 inches.

Depth: 2.5cm / 1 inch.

Condition:

Very good condition for its age.

Original interior in good condition.
