Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1890s.
To the top is an oval shaped vacant cartouche which could be engraved by your silversmith to create a personalized gem. The front retains it's original glass with a heart shaped bevelled edge.

The frame stands on a folding easel stand and is covered in a red leather, with wear commensurate with age. The silver is hallmarked for the highly collectible Chester assay office and the year 1896. The makers initials are also present HM for the silversmith Henry Matthews.
Excellent condition, measuring 7" x 5 1/4" with an aperture measuring 5" x 3 7/8".
