We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco bedroom furniture from the 1930s is characterized by clean geometric silhouettes, softly rounded corners, and expressive natural timber veneers such as maple, walnut, and satinwood. Design during this period focused on functional modernism combined with visual warmth.

Cabinetmakers during the Art Deco era frequently utilized figured wood veneers including birds-eye maple, blonde maple, walnut, and burr timbers laid over solid softwood or hardwood cores. Bases and handles often incorporated contrasting dark woods, bakelite, or chromium-plated metal.

Authentic pieces exhibit traditional joinery techniques such as hand-cut dovetail joints on internal drawer or frame construction, original plinth bases, period-correct veneer thickness, and natural age-related patination across surfaces.

Light timber tones like blonde maple complement modern neutral palettes, Scandinavian-inspired bedrooms, and minimalist spaces. Pairing them with contemporary textiles balances historical character with modern clean aesthetics.

Veneered surfaces should be dusted regularly with a dry, lint-free cloth and polished periodically with a high-quality beeswax paste. Avoid placing items in direct sunlight or near radiator heat sources to prevent veneer lifting or discoloration.
