Charles Henry PASSEY (1818-1895) - Framed oil painting on canvas. Entitled verso ''Near Burford Bridge - sunny'' it depicts two country women chatting beside a cart-track on a sunny morning. With tall trees to the left, a cart track with scrub bushes and flowers to the other side and far reaching views into the distance. This is a charming and cheery scene. With a warm sunny glow.
 
Well painted in the Victorian style and remaining in good condition.
 
Signed and dated (1894) - lower left corner.

The Artist:  Charles Henry Passey (born.1818 - died 1895) Had a London address and often painted rural scenes, like this one, but also cornfields and harvesting scenes. He flourished between the years 1870-1885 and exhibited three landscapes, in Derbyshire and Cumberland and at Suffolk Street, London (the home of the Society of British Artists).
