A Fabulous Old Sheffield Plated Warming Tureen

19th century
Description

A fabulous large crested warming tureen. The piece is unmarked but is made of Old Sheffield Plate and dates to c1820. With lift out tureen which is double crested to two inlaid silver cartouches. The warming base is tinned to the interior and sits well on four substantial feet. With an ornate removable handle.

The condition is very good overall with only the smallest signs of wear to the interior. With good strong handles.

A truly wonderful table centrepiece.

Weight approx 3kg.

Measures approx 29.5cm x 22cm.

Span from handle to handle approx 36cm.
