Rare Very Small Old Sheffield Plated Dish Cover 26cm

Description

A rare Old Sheffield Plated dish cover of small proportions. Dating to the late 18th Century, the piece is crested to the front for 'Honesty is the Best Policy'. The piece has four unusual pierced vents to the body. Beautifully silvered to the interior. We believe the cover may be for partridge.

In good condition overall with a slight ripple to the base and some copper bleed to the raised edges due to age and use.

A truly unusual piece.
