Ww1 Issued Antique French Binoculars Signed L. Petit, Paris

1900 - 1920
Sold by Puckerings
Description

A stunning pair of French made binoculars or field glasses dating to around 1917. Made from polished brass, they have been meticulously re-polished to gleam, which looks stunning paired with the cognac coloured leather.

They focus wonderfully and adjust to fit comfortably across the bride of the nose, there are also sun brass sun shades which pull out to reduce glare in bright light and sunshine.

The eyepieces are signed L. Petit, PARIS and the brass engraved with the magnification 4 1/2 x and Mk V Special 43695, also stamped with the military crows foot; these would have been British Officer's Issue binoculars and come with a case (wear commensurate with age and use), the case embossed "J Cripps 1917".

Excellent condition measuring 4 1/2" wide x 5" tall extending to 6 1/2" while fully extended and the sun shades pulled out. The case measures 5 1/2" x 3" x 6 1/2" tall.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
