Description

Beautiful late 19th.c. mahogany and marble top bedroom linen press with a secretaire desk drawer c.1880. Original grey marble top with a deep ogee moulded edge over one long drawer and a two door cupboard fitted with three large slides for linen and clothes. The front of the drawer folds open to form a desk (height 29½") with three small compartments behind the writing surface. Well figured mahogany veneers across the front and sides, gadroon frieze across the top of the drawer front, fine carved detail to the escutcheons on the drawer and doors. Rosewood veneered interior with inlaid stringing, oak linings to the slides with mahogany fronts. Excellent colour and condition, note the original large brass locks. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
