Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A nest of tables is a set of small accent tables of graduating sizes designed to fit stacked neatly on top of one another. First designed in the late 18th century, they gained widespread popularity in the 19th and early 20th centuries as space-saving occasional furniture for serving tea and drinks.

Tables from this period were commonly constructed with a timber frame surfaced in burr walnut veneers displaying distinctive swirled grain patterns. Traditional features include carved cabriole legs, carved knee decoration, and ball-and-claw feet.

Authentic pieces feature carved leg motifs, natural variation in the walnut veneer grain, and age-consistent wear to the original polish. The smaller tables slide smoothly into channelled runners fitted beneath the larger table frames.

Position the nested set at the end of a sofa to serve as a compact side table, unstacking individual tables when additional surface space is required. Pair the natural timber tone with neutral upholstery or contemporary lighting to balance traditional and modern elements.

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish sparingly once or twice a year following the grain direction. Keep the wood away from direct heat sources, bright sunlight, and standing liquids to prevent veneer movement or water marking.
