Description

Antique Doxa Goliath pocket watch.

The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement, identified as a Doxa, which is working nicely.

The movement is protected by an inner cover which has a short scratch.

The watch measures 66mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is nickel and it is in lovely condition with just light surface marks, nothing serious at all.

The glass lens has minor marking but again, nothing serious.

The dial is signed J Boseck & Co, Calcutta. The firm J Boseck & Co were manufacturers and retailers of gold and silver products in India, as well as selling watches and clocks. Their claim to fame was that after Sir Edmund Hillary successfully climbed Mount Everest in 1953, he was presented with a Rolex from J Boseck & Co.

The dial is in lovely condition and has pin-set hands.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
