The Silver Cabinet has dated these Silver Sentry Box Menu Holders to the Edwardian era.
The 'sentries' featured are: the Royal Horse Artillery, the Gordon Highlanders, the Blues & Royals (Royal Horse Guards and First Dragoons) and the Irish Guard.

There is some discolouration and crazing to the paintings and a couple of small chips inside the glass panels. The box has some staining and the inside satin is ripped at the hinges, but it is original and is also stamped for the retailer, Edwards and Sons, 161 Regent Street, London.
