Description

A Substantial Pair of 19th Century Brass Fire Dogs.

The pair of fire dogs, each with an orb and ovoid spire finial, above a classical gadroon rim vase, held with rising laurel leaf cups, resting on a waisted an rounded socle, standing on laurel swagged and medallion plinths. The feet sweeping with leaf decoration and scrolled toes. The rear supported by iron rest, with raised bracket and scroll ends.

Impressive size and very well cast throughout.

Date circa 1850.
