This is a superb antique Victorian burr walnut pedestal desk, by the world renowned cabinet maker, Gillow & Co, Circa 1880 in date. It is made from fabulous burr walnut, which has a the rectangular top inset with a fabulous green and gold tooled leather writing surface, the top features an elegant ogee moulded edge and the right hand frieze drawer bears the Gillows impressed stamp and the serial number 14102. It has an arrangement of nine graduated drawers with turned walnut handles and it stands on a plinth base.
