Description

The colour palette in this very striking jajim is unusual.

Made by Qashqa'i nomads in Fars Province, south-west Persia circa 1880-1900, 'jajims' were used as covers in the tents and for covering the loads on the camels during long migrations.

This beautiful jajim was made in balanced twill-weave technique - woven in four vertical panels and expertly sewn together. All colours are organic and the jajim is in complete, original condition.

Not a floor-covering but ideally for use as a cover on a table or over a chest or even hung on a wall.
