N Wilson Antiques Clocks has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
This lovely antique bronze figure is a Japanese example dating to the meiji period. It depicts a fox cast in wonderful detail in the typical meiji style and finish. The fox is shown walking with head raised. The fox then sits on a beautiful, shaped, naturalistic bronze base with small details. The base is then also signed to the back of the base with a small Japanese seal. The whole piece then sits on a beautifully shaped wooden base of a typical Japanese style.
The piece is also exceptionally big for a meiji bronze and looks truly impressive.

28” / 71cm Wide.
13” / 33cm Deep.
