A Superb Silver & Tortoiseshell Match Box Holder

A superb silver match box holder from the reign of George V. This delightful collector's piece is in hallmarked silver and is of rectangular form with an engine turned base. There are cutaways to the sides and back to reveal the strikers and inside, there is a contemporary match box. The top is stunning polished tortoiseshell with inlaid silver pique work, featuring a vacant cartouche. An appealing collector's item, dating from the 'Jazz age'. Dimensions below.
