Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Georgian country chairs are vernacular furniture pieces produced in rural Britain during the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, combining simplified regional interpretations of formal urban designs with native timber construction.

Regional furniture makers primarily utilised durable native hardwoods such as elm, oak, and ash, which were paired with hand-woven rush seats constructed from dried river grass.

Authentic period examples feature hand-cut mortise and tenon joinery, subtle variations from hand-carved elements, structural timber shrinkage around joint connections, and natural wear patterns on lower stretchers.

Positioning country chairs alongside modern minimalist dining tables or using them as accent seating in hallways creates a tactile contrast between historical craftsmanship and contemporary design.

Rush seats should be cleaned gently using a soft vacuum attachment and kept away from excessive damp. The timber frame benefits from regular applications of clear beeswax polish to preserve the patination.
