Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, brass candelabras often incorporated revivalist styles such as Gothic Revival or Renaissance motifs. Manufacturers like William Tonks & Sons produced cast brass pieces featuring decorative openwork, masks, and scrollwork to serve as functional mantelpiece or dining table decoration.

Pieces from this era were manufactured using sand-casting processes with solid brass alloys. Components including candle cups, scrolled arms, central frames, and bases were cast individually and joined using threaded central rods or brazing techniques.

Authentic items produced by William Tonks & Sons often feature a stamped maker mark consisting of an eight-pointed star containing a sun symbol, sometimes accompanied by the initials WT&S. Genuine period examples display heavy cast construction and sharp execution in openwork casting.

Positioning a matching pair of brass candelabras symmetrically on a fireplace mantelpiece, sideboard, or dining table creates a structured focal point. The metallic finish complements dark timber, natural stone, or neutral contemporary backdrops.

Dust regularly using a soft dry cloth to maintain the surface. To remove accumulated candle wax, submerge affected sections in warm water or apply gentle heat to soften the wax rather than scraping with metal tools that may mark the surface.
