Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A clock garniture is a decorative set comprising a central timepiece accompanied by a pair of matching decorative objects, typically urns, vases, or candelabras. The tradition originated in France during the eighteenth century and became a prominent feature of Victorian and Neo-Classical interior decoration.

These sets are predominantly constructed from cast brass or bronze, often finished with gilt mercury plating or gold lacquer. Components frequently incorporate bevelled glass panels, white enamel dials, and polished stone or marble plinths.

Authentic late Victorian pieces exhibit heavy cast metal framework, precise hand-chased surface details, and mechanical brass movements often stamped with maker marks or serial numbers. Look for consistent patina across all three pieces and original bevelled glass elements.

Arrange the three pieces symmetrically on a fireplace mantelpiece, dining room sideboard, or entryway console table. The architectural symmetry creates a formal focal point that pairs well with both classical moulding and minimal modern backdrops.

Dust the surface regularly with a soft, dry lint-free cloth. Avoid chemical polishes or abrasive cleaners, as these can strip original gilding and lacquer; mechanical clock movements should be serviced by a professional horologist every five to seven years.
