A Fine Old Sheffield Plated Drinks Tray C1820

19th century
Description

A fine and heavy drinks tray standing on three stylised claw feet. Made of Old Sheffield Plate and dating to c1800-1820. No makers mark. Highly ornate foliate pattern and of substantial weight and quality. Bearing the initial J to an inlaid silver cartouche.

The condition is very good overall with no splits or dents, but with slight signs of copper bleed to the tray surface as is to be expected due to age and use.
