London Fine Antiques has dated this piece to the 1860s.
This is a large Victorian swing dressing mirror which is in superb order.
The excellent mahogany dome surround is supported upon exceptional barley twist vertical supports. These are capped with wonderfully turned finials and terminate in an attractive turned foot support.

From the rear the piece displays well - useful for locations where the Cheval can be viewed from all angles.
Bronze fittings are all in perfect order. The mirror stay is nicely engineered and functions well allowing easy adjustment of the angle as required.

The mirror glass is lightly hazed uniformally throughout giving a wonderful period look, yet still performing as required.
The finest we have seen this example is in excellent order throughout. A rare piece that will always be in high demand and continue to appreciate in value.

This gorgeous design makes a beautiful and functional item.
