An Attractive and Unusual Silver Mounted Sugar Caster

1900 - 1920
Description

A superior silver mounted sugar caster from early in the reign of George V. This splendid piece has a glass body of flared shape, with cut ribbing, swags and fans. The hallmarked silver lid unscrews and is patented. Unusually, it has a pouring hole in addition to the pierced smaller holes. This can be closed by rotating the top of the lid, giving flexible options for dispensing the sugar. An attractive and useful piece of great design. Dimensions below.
