A lovely Art Nouveau writing desk, ideal for any period study or office.

We are delighted to offer this great condition Antique Late Victorian (circa 1880s's) solid Mahogany twin pedestal writing desk in the Art Nouveau style, ideal for any period study or office. This very usable desk is ideal to be used as a desk for a laptop with the bonus of being able to store the folded laptop in the middle drawer and could also even be used as a hall or console table as it is not too intrusive.

This lovely desk features its original lovely lightly faded French polished finish with a nice warm Mahogany colour and patina. Inset into the top is a deep Burgundy gold tooled writing desk leather in nearly new condition. This desk has a lovely moulded frontage complete with 9 moulded descending drawers which have all of their brass lever locks working, complete with 2 original keys (1 spare key) and brass keyhole escutcheons. The drawers are dovetailed constructed, Mahogany lined and are complete with original Art Nouveau polished solid brass dropper handles. Under the desk pedestals are working castors for ease of movement.

We have sympathetically restored, cleaned and waxed this item to enhance the French polished surface and preserve it for many years to come.

Please note; This item is in great condition for its age as shown by the photographs, however, being an antique item of this age there are minor blemishes and repairs here and there which we feel adds to its character. Also note this desk comes apart into 3 pieces for ease of transport and placing into a room.
