Description

A fine and well made Victorian mahogany kneehole pedestal desk c1860, with a replaced tan hide desk surface. Each pedestal contain three deep drawers, without locks. Each pedestal stands on for castors. The top contains three drawers horizontally, each has a lock. The top has a chamfered edge on the front and sides. The back of the top is flat, but it is original, meaning that this piece was intended to stand against a wall. The central drawer is narrower than the side drawers - as a result the kneehole below measures 35cm. The mahogany used has beautiful warm colour and a lustrous patina. It is a good quality piece.

Note: width of kneehole is 35cm, height of kneehole is 60cm.
