ANTIQUE #SA923062

A Pair Of 19th Century Anglo-indian Bergere Armchairs

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Jeckyll & Co

Each with hoop back set on gourd-shaped stumps, raised on reeded tapering legs. The back and seats were formerly caned and now require new covers. Both chairs are structurally sound, of principally pegged construction. The darker chair appears larger, but the dimensions are the same except that the gourd stumps are set at slightly different heights. The lighter chair has a more consistent teak colour, the finish of the dark chair is more varied and looks more like padouk in places (although probably teak as well).

Additional dimensions:

Lighter chair 61cm from the floor to the bend in the arm

Darker chair 65 cm from the floor to the bend in the arm

Transport can be arranged at cost throughout the UK.
