For your consideration is this modernist Art Deco mantle clock which is incredibly stylish and of very good quality and rare design by the English clockmakers 'Smiths'. The base of the clock is made from what looks to be lacquered wood and the case and face are made from chrome. The clock mechanism is accessed through the door panel at the reverse of the clock. The door is made from clear Perspex and is held in place with a central screw, you can see this in the photos. . The clock has a Smiths 8 day movement and is in good working order and keeps good time having been serviced by a qualified Horologist. It bears its original presentation label to the reverse which reads 'From Members of Bradfield College July 28th 1936.' This is truly a collectors clock and a style of this maker we've not seen before.
